SOUS CHEF


Location: Soho
Salary: Up to 35k dependent on experience
Hours: Full time

Having all done 60/70/80+ weeks for far too long, we know how unsustainable hospitality jobs can potentially become, as well as how important a good work-life balance is for mental + physical health.

So often it’s just accepted that long hours, low pay + days off spent sleeping are the norm for restaurant jobs, but we’re not about that. Instead for us, a happy + successful restaurant is one with a happy team behind it, so in addition to all our employee benefits we strive to make sure all our staff are paid well + work sensible hours with shift patterns that protect energy levels + allow for a life outside the restaurant.

THIS MEANS:

A full time role is based on approx 48 hours, or 6 shifts, including one double shift per week.

Wherever possible we try to avoid closing shifts followed by opens, + aim to give everyone the opportunity to request shifts off to fit in with life outside the restaurant.

Our chefs understand that not only do our guests visit us to eat + drink, but – more importantly – they come for an experience. We have an open kitchen + our chefs love interacting with guests, making recommendations + engaging with them during their visit.

OUR CHEFS ARE:

Proactive when it comes to developing the kitchen space
Comfortable with cooking + running service
Prepared to help develop kitchen systems
Confident people managers, who can oversee training + development
Adaptable, keen to learn all aspects of our kitchen’s operation + move up the ranks
Fascinated by food + locally sourced, sustainable produce
Careful about attention to detail, organised + clean working, fast + efficient
Keen to work with an exciting + ambitious restaurant business that emphasises looking after its team
Outgoing, positive + driven

Proven leadership, training + development skills
+ an interest in or experience of Israeli, Middle Eastern and/or North American deli cuisine + culture
will put you at an advantage.
